In general directors and officers have to personally bear the premium for the insurance of the high legal cost arising from legal disputes concerning their terms of employment. Regularly insurance companies cover such risk only in combination with other Managers’ Defense Cost coverage products or a D&O Insurance, premiums of which are paid by the company. A product, granting coverage in this sense has to be distinguished from Labor Law Defense Cost Insurance, which is considerably lower priced and offered for employees below the directors’ and officers’ level.
